On 07/09/2024 at approximately 2342 hours, officers with the Village of Bath Police Department responded to a report of a female screaming in the area of 18 West Steuben Street.
Further investigation revealed that Alesha M. Hunt, age 31, of Bath, was at the residence in violation of a full stay away order of protection.
As officers attempted to take Hunt into custody, she physically resisted and attempted to bite officers. During the struggle, a sergeant sustained an injury to the thigh as a result of Hunt’s purposeful attempt to injure officers.
Hunt was transported to a medical facility for evaluation. While enroute to the hospital, Hunt purposefully kicked and injured a member of the ambulance crew. Hunt was treated and released. Hunt was subsequently transported to Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment.
Hunt is charged with the following:
- Criminal Contempt in the 2nd degree, a Class A misdemeanor
- Aggravated Family Offense, a Class E Felony
- Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor
- Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree, a Class A Misdemeanor
- Assault in the 2nd degree, a Class D Felony (2 COUNTS)
- Attempted Assault in the 2nd degree, a Class E Felony
