Active Warrant

On 3/15/2024 at or around 1:10pm a Village of Bath Police Officer observed a gray Hyundai driving with one occupant inside. The Officer was able to identify the driver as a James Margeson who had an active warrant through the Steuben County Sheriff Office. The Officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle on McMaster St. in the Village of Bath. More Bath PD units arrived on scene.

Margeson was advised of his warrant and he started to roll his window up and lock the doors in his vehicle. He then attempted to take off however stalled the vehicle twice. Officers were then able to take Margeson into custody after he was physically and actively resisting arrest.

James Margeson was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd and Resisting Arrest, both class A misdemeanors. He was processed and issued appearance tickets with Bath Police Department. He was then transferred to the custody of the Steuben County Sheriff Office and transported to the county jail.
