Arrest of Heather Pyer

The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Heather Pyer on 07/10/2024 of Bath NY. Patrols received a text 911 call in reference to a female subject who was armed with a knife that had begun cutting her wrists and possibly had stabbed her wife. Patrols arrived on scene and immediately observed an active disturbance with a female screaming for help. Patrols quickly approached the scene where a female was being pulled into the home. The female identified as Mrs. Pyer retreated into the home where she attempted to barricade herself inside of a bathroom. Patrols were able to breach the door and after a short struggle were able to place her in custody and began to render aid to the injuries. She was immediately transported to Ira Davenport Hospital to be treated for the severe injuries to her wrists. Less than 24 hours later she was released from the hospital and processed for the following charges; Assault with Intent to Cause Physical Injury with a Weapon a Class D Felony, Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree a Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree a Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing a Class A Misdemeanor and Resisting Arrest also a Class A Misdemeanor. Mrs. Pyer was then transported to the Steuben County Jail where he was released at CAP court.
