On 8/20/24, Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department observed a vehicle with the sole occupant inside that they knew to be a Thomas Gallagher, 31 years old, of Bath, NY. Gallagher was operating his vehicle north bound on Robie St. The Officers knew he had a revoked license and pulled him over on Charles St. in the Village of Bath.
Officers with the Bath Police Department spoke with Gallagher and had him step out of the vehicle due to them having to tow the vehicle. Once he stepped out, an Officer observed a container with residue inside of it on the floor board. Gallagher was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a quantity of illicit drugs.
Gallagher was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, a class D Felony and AUO 2nd, an unclassified misdemeanor.
Gallagher was then transported to the Steuben County Jail to be arraigned. Once at the Steuben County Jail, Gallagher was found to be hiding more quantities of illicit drugs on his person inside of the jail and he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class B Felony and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class E Felony. Gallagher was arraigned and released to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date.
