On 01/14/2024 at approximately 1725 hours, Officers with the Village of Bath Police Department investigated a complaint of a vehicle stolen from the Save A Lot parking lot on West Morris Street that occurred earlier in the day.
Shortly after the complaint was made, the investigation determined that the vehicle was currently located in a parking lot in Maryville, Pennsylvania. Members of the Marysville Borough Police Department responded to the location, where they recovered the stolen vehicle and took the suspect into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as Charlene C. Kowalski, age 32, of Bath. Kowalski was charged in Pennsylvania and booked into the Cumberland County Prison, where she was later released.
On 01/24/2024, Village of Bath Police Department officers were alerted to the location of Kowalski. Officers responded to Casey Lane where they located Kowalski, who had an active arrest warrant for Grand Larceny in the third degree, a Class D Felony.
At the time of the warrant arrest, Kowalski was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle out of Middlesex Township, Pennsylvania. Kowalski was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the third degree, a Class D Felony.
Kowalski was arraigned in Bath Village Court and remanded to Steuben County Jail with the opportunity for bail.
