On 5/25/24 around 5:40pm, The Village of Bath Police Department was dispatched to Mossy Bank Park for a 35 year old male meeting a 14 year old female with the intent to take the female home with him. The male travelled over two hours to meet the female with intentions to have a sexual relationship with her. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the male, Andrew McCarthy, 35, of Otego, NY.
After investigation, McCarthy was placed under arrest for Attempted Rape 2nd, a class E Felony and Attempted Luring a child, a class D Felony. McCarthy was processed on his charges and transported to the Steuben County Jail where he was arraigned on 5/26/24 in the morning.
