Taken into custody

On July 11, 2024, COURTNEY B. ROCHE, age 34, of the Village of Bath, was taken into custody and charged with various felony and misdemeanors spanning the course of three (3) days.

            On 07/09/2024, ROCHE unlawfully entered into posted restricted areas of the Bath Municipal Building. ROCHE stole several items including credit cards and cell phone. ROCHE was apprehended shortly after and charged with 1 count of Burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D Felony and 3 counts of Grand Larceny, a class E felony. ROCHE was processed, transported to Steuben County CAP Court where she was released.

            On 07/10/2024, ROCHE knowing there was no fire, activated a fire alarm at the Quality Inn on W. Morris St. ROCHE entered into the hotel, went to the third floor, activated a pull station and then fled the building on foot. Bath Fire Department responded to the fire alarm, there were approximately 40 guests within the building at the time which evacuated.

            On 07/11/2024, ROCHE knowing there was no fire, activated a fire alarm at the Budget Inn on W. Morris St. ROCHE entered into the hotel, was on the second floor, activated a pull station and then fled the building on foot. ROCHE was apprehended shortly after and charged with 2 counts of Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 2nd degree, a class E Felony and 2 counts of Criminal Nuisance in the 2nd degree, a class B misdemeanor. ROCHE was released with appearance tickets to appear in court at a later date.

On 07/11/2024, ROCHE entered into Steuben County Mental Health and again knowing there was no fire, activated the fire alarm within the building by pull station. The Building was evacuated and Bath Fire responded. ROCHE was located in an office on the fourth floor and taken into custody. ROCHE was found in possession of property which belonged to employee of Mental Health. ROCHE was charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, Falsely reporting an incident in the 1st degree, a class D felony, Petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, Criminal nuisance in the 2nd degree, a class B misdemeanor and Criminal Tampering in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor. ROCHE was processed and transported to Steuben County Jail for CAP Court.
